Police were called to Paisano's Pizza on Dillingham Square in Woodbridge around 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 on reports of an assault, county police said.
The investigation revealed that an employee, identified as Ghulam Haidar Maher, inappropriately touched his 19- year-old female co-worker earlier that day, police said.
The victim reported the incident to a Sylvester Bacchus, a family member.
A short time later, a confrontation occurred in the parking lot between Bacchus and Maher, in which Bacchus struck Maher multiple times with a metal tool, according to police. The two separated and Maher was treated at an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both Bacchus and Maher were arrested. Bacchus was charged with malicious wounding and held on $1,000 secured bond, while Maher was charged with misdemeanor sexual assault and released on a court summons, police said.
